CEC have extensive experience in helping schools with their land and transportation develop- ments and changes. Services provided include examining land redevelopment opportunities, green travel plans, safe routes to school plans, school travel plans, transportation & drainage assessments, detailed design of civil engineering infrastructure (road, sewers, pedestrian crossings, car parks, etc.), flood risk assessment, and representation at public enquiries.

Transportation Appraisal together with Detail Design of Infrastructure (road, sewers, pedestrian crossings, car park, etc.) relating to extension of the existing school and also the redevelopment of part of the school land for residential development use.

Transportation Appraisal for new school campus combining the two schools on one site and Examining the Redevelopment Opportunities on the other. Safe Routes to School as well as School Travel Plan for the school(s) were assessed, together with appropriate cycle/car parking provision and new signal access junction and pedestrian/cycle crossing. Access Options to serve the site to be redeveloped for housing were also engineered.

Transportation Appraisals relating to all of the existing College Campus sites, assessing the redevelopment of the most sustainable of these for increased student numbers attending the site. Car Parking Provision together with Green Travel Plan objectives all considered and approved. Pedestrian routes to and from bus and railway stations as well as assessing the bus route pattern and catchment for those students transferring to the redeveloped Wigan Campus sites.

Existing substandard access arrangements were suitably redesigned and upgraded by use of traffic signal control to cater for future traffic movement including cars, buses, cyclists and pedestrians. Sustainable Drainage Infrastructure Design formed part of the engineering brief. The role of planning supervisor was also included within the engineering brief. Travel Plan prepared for the new campus site at Birkenhead.
